File Sharing with a Vista computer

Postby mizzle54 on Wed Jun 17, 2009 1:39 am

Hi, I have just installed Windows 7 on my laptop which was networked with my tower computer which is running Vista. I had them networked for file and printer sharing, but now cannot access my other computer. It shows up on the network, but I can not access the files or the printer.
Can anyone help me with this issue?
Thanks,
Sandi

BTW, I can access my windows 7 files from my vista desktop computer, but can't access my vista files from the windows 7 laptop, so yeah, I can find it on the network, just can't access the files or printer.

I am going through the exact same problem with my vista laptop and new windows 7 laptop. I can access windows 7 files from the vista machine but cannot vice versa. It says there is a permission error and requires a username and password. Any fixes that do not involve similar logins/passwords would be helpful.
